Good Brick Awards
Recognizing the best in local preservation
Preservation Houston has presented the Good Brick Awards since 1979 to recognize outstanding contributions to the preservation, restoration and enhancement of Houston's architectural and cultural heritage. Nomination categories include the renovation, restoration, or adaptive reuse of a building; new buildings or sympathetic additions that enhance the existing historic fabric of Houston; recognition for the craftspeople who continually maintain, build, and restore our important buildings and cultural fabric; preservation-related programs or activities; project planning; publications; and outstanding service or leadership in preservation.
Nominate a project for a Good Brick Award
Anyone may submit a Good Brick Award nomination. Nominating yourself will not affect your chance of receiving an award. Projects must be located in Harris County and must have been completed in the five years prior to the nomination deadline.
Meet the 2024 Good Brick Award winners
The 2024 Good Brick Awards honor projects that represent the diversity of historic preservation in the Houston area, including the restorations of historic homes, the repurposing of former industrial plants and the rehabilitation of the city’s oldest extant fire station.
